Hurd won a split decision over Lara to retain his IBF light middleweight (154 pounds) championship, and add Lara's WBA championship. With scores of 114-113 twice for Hurd and once for Lara. I understand that boxing can be very subjective, but I just don't see how anyone could see that fight being that close. I think Lara is a terrific boxer, but Hurd didn't let him do the things that make him a great boxer. Hurd was on top of Lara all fight landing punches, not letting Lara escape.
